The UP MED WEBINARS are monthly medical update lectures of the UP College of Medicine available online for all physicians and other health professionals in the Philippines and the world. It was initiated in 2015 by UPCM Class 1990. It allows participants to learn from prominent UP medical alumni without leaving their home or workplace. Topics include common or emerging medical problems which have significant impact as well as trending public health issues.
Every first and last Wednesdays of the month from 12noon to 1pm, the session starts with a 25-minute lecture, followed by an open forum. The session may be viewed on real time at livestream.upm.edu.ph and questions may be sent via twitter to #upmwebinars.
UP MED WEBINARS 2016 is a project of UPCM Class 1991 in collaboration with the UP Post-Grad Institute of Medicine, UP Medical Informatics Unit, and the UP Medical Alumni Society.
DE-TALKS: Insights to Inspire was conceptualized by UPCM Class 1991 as part of their year-long Silver Jubilee celebration. These series of talks given primarily to medical students, are meant to “de-toxify”, thus the term, “De-Talks” — a light take on non-academic topics which are rarely given as part of the formal medical school curriculum, but are relevant to medical students as they live out their mission as future doctors, educators, leaders, family men and women, and productive citizens of our country.
The monthly series is scheduled every second Tuesday of the month, and held at the Buenafe Auditorium, from 8-10am. It is informal and interactive, and open to medical students, residents, fellows, faculty, and alumni of UPCM and UP-PGH.
