The alumni have taken on their most ambitious project to date after years of structural donations to the UP College of Medicine by various individuals and celebrating classes. Majority of pledges and donations to this project have come from alumni.
On April 11, 2016, groundbreaking ceremonies for the future UPCM Academic Center happened on the grounds of the UP College of Medicine. It replaces the old Basic Sciences Learning Rooms (BSLR-E and W) which have since been demolished to make way for this new facility. The new center is expected to be completed by Dec. 2016.
The new Academic Center will be home to state-of-the-art classrooms using the latest technology. It will be completely wired to the internet and will be powered through solar energy.
The top floor will house the future Balay Alumnay, a multi-purpose special events hall which will be able to accommodate as many as 500 people. The UPMAS is calling on all alumni to support this worthy endeavor by donating through the UPMAS.
